It was a beautiful day in Monterey...
It was a beautiful day at the Monterey Scottish Games last week-end. Good friends, well behaved dogs (well mostly), good meat pies and Great beer! Nothing works like a Black & Tan to settle me into my lawn chair! I got out of bed Saturday morning at the crack of dawn, fed and packed the dogs and had my tea and then drove to Prunedale (2 hours) to drop Tavi, Sophia & Fiona off at their groomer (they looked like wildebeasts!). I only brought Flynn with me to the Games and he acted like a little gentleman until the pipers and drums started tuning up! There was an elderly Scottie and a young puppy that were upset with all the noise so I stayed at our booth while a good friend offered to walk Flynn in the parade for me. When our group of Scotties was announced during the parade, the announcer said "and there's a True Scot!" and I just Knew he was talking about Flynn! It seems that Flynn and two other boys started talking "trash" to eachother as they passed the podium and Flynn had his hair up in the true terrier posture! Poor "Flynn the Fool" ended up in "time out" in his crate but all was well afterward. He slept like a lamb all the way home.
